Engineering Manager - Highlands & Islands

They now have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join their winning team.

Reporting to, and working closely with the Operations Director, as Engineering Manager, you will be required to:-

 

Safely deliver effective engineering and maintenance activities to all assets in compliance to all   relevant standards and regulatory bodies.

To pro-actively seek and implement new methods to increase Asset reliability and increase efficiency.

To lead a team of engineers to support the running of a food processing operation within the SQPDC (Safety, Quality, People, Delivery & Cost) framework, delivering on the shift’s Key Performance Indicator’s (KPIs).

To lead and deliver key business projects in support of site compliance, NPD and business growth.

To work to the highest standards of Quality and Customer care, promoting and demonstrating company values.

To develop and support the use of a clearly defined maintenance strategy, in line with overall business requirements

 

Responsibilities include:-

Coach and mentor Engineering team in effective engineering and maintenance practices

Develop and maintain Engineering Skills Matrix to improve personal skill levels across the team

Manage team holidays, absence, performance and discipline 

Manage engineering budget within overall business plan

Lead the team in a professional, open, firm yet positive manner, displaying consistency, honesty and integrity at all times

Implement and promote working methods which eliminates or minimises food safety risks such as cross contamination

Understand product labelling standards for control of allergens, batch and product information

To report accidents and near misses immediately and assist in investigation where required

To develop your skills with on the job training and take responsibility for your personal development

To undertake any reasonable request by a line manager, in assisting in the manufacturing process

Strong attention to detail with a diligent approach to work activities

Develop preventive maintenance program across all key areas and equipment

Deploy maintenance strategy based on combination of service contracts, preventive maintenance and repair, seeking optimum performance in line       with overall business plans

Ensure timely repair and corrective action for all major breakdowns
