Overview:
Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation based in Central Scotland, is seeking an experienced and proactive EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives across their operational and commercial sites. This is a key leadership role focused on ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the business unit.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead EHS strategy and performance across the BU/site/plant, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate standards.
  • Provide expert guidance to site and BU management, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Promote a Zero Harm culture through visible leadership, behavioural safety initiatives, and best practice sharing.
  • Develop and manage EHS improvement plans, addressing audit findings and mitigating risks.
  • Represent the BU in national and international EHS forums and committees.
  • Monitor legislative changes and communicate their impact on operations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, ensuring robust investigation and follow-up of incidents.
  • Manage EHS budgets efficiently and support the development of annual performance plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS into project planning and execution.
  • Drive simplification and enhancement of EHS management systems and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of EHS competencies and the Management of Change (MOC) programme.

 

 

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven leadership experience in EHS within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to engage and impact stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expert-level technical knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices.
  • Hands-on approach with a willingness to spend significant time on the shop floor.
  • Collaborative mindset, open to learning and sharing across sites and teams.
  • Excellent communication and training skills, with a focus on coaching and development.
