Our client is a world class producer of a range of high quality products and supply to a global customer base.  The Production Operations Manager for the plant is a pivotal role within the business which delivers outstanding customer value through the production of premium products and services at competitive costs to their global markets. The UK Operations Centre’s integrated activities incorporate production, warehousing, Engineering, planning & logistics supported by multidisciplined functional teams.

With a huge focus on people, You will be responsible for all activities across 5 lines and leads a team of approximately 100 permanent staff (Line Leads & Shift Leads, Key Operators & Operators, Lines Forklift Drivers) and a flexible set of temporary Operators. Production a key component of the UK Manufacturing Organisation and is responsible for shaping the development of the Manufacturing Strategy within Operations to deliver leading Industry performance in Safety, Customer Service, Quality and Costs.

 

Key aspects of the role include:-

Provide outstanding Operations Leadership for Production in line with the UK Operations Centre strategies and targets.

Deliver Industry leading performance across Production for Safety Quality Sustainability processes, standards and metrics in collaboration and alignment with the UK team.

Support Customer Service through the delivery of the Production planning and providing the flexible capacity and staffing required to meet demand.

Deliver competitive cost to the customers by delivering production budget, eliminating losses, improving site Overall Efficiency and implementing Productivity Savings and Value Engineering initiatives.

Drive the implementation of the company’s operating system and the development of the Lean and Continuous Improvement culture within Operations areas.

Provide outstanding leadership that will foster a values based performance culture through the development of skills and leadership capabilities of your people in alignment with company values.

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:-

Provide outstanding Operations Leadership for Production in line with the UK Operations Centre strategies and targets.

Develop and deliver strategic 3 year production plan engaging with key local and global stakeholders to position production as a key contributor to the UK  targets and Customers requirements.

Ensure the local programmes are aligned with strategic Global Operations improvement programmes.

Develop & execute with Manufacturing Engineering the 3 year CAPEX plan for Production supporting that strategy.

Develop & implement annual budget plans aligned with the overall UK Operations Centre requirements.

Deliver Industry leading performance across Production for Safety Quality Sustainability processes, standards and metrics in collaboration and alignment with the UK team.

Foster a culture of accountability through fact based reporting and challenge the status quo to influence breakthrough performance.

Coach and mentor direct reports, providing developmental support to grow the performance and potential of the individual.
