Though the role has a strong emphasis on developing their marketing and communications activities, it will also open up across the entire commercial spectrum, including direct support of their global sales and engineering team activities and through close working with the team, helping to develop and strengthen internal processes and tools which will improve sales force effectiveness.
From the aspect of marketing communications you will take over responsibility for planning and organisation of their exhibition marketing and promotional activities, work closely with the sales and engineering teams in their preparation, and review future areas where they can maximise their market presence. You will manage their web-based media, strengthening the message provided to their markets through appropriate content, and developing a protocol for maintaining a high standard over time.
Internally you will work with key regional HR staff and local management teams in the UK and Asia to support the continual improvement of their internal communication processes, including the publication of their internal company magazine, as well as assisting with their monthly management internal communication activities.
You will also work with the sales team and senior management to help streamline and improve sales planning and reporting processes, support customer enquiry, quotation and sales administration processes, and by liaising with field sales and internal staff you will help ensure client response times are met every time. You will also work alongside the sales team in developing an efficient process of gathering valuable market data, which can be used to plan and develop future market activities for the business.
Profile and skills
It is very likely you will have hands-on exhibition marketing and/or digital marketing media experience, preferably with some exposure to a manufacturing or industrial marketing environment, though other sectors will be considered. You will be highly organised with a natural ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks efficiently, possessing a creative, energetic, self confident and enthusiastic working attitude, and should relish variety and challenge of work. You will have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and as part of a global business you will come in contact with a wide variety of cultures, you will need to have the sensitivities to adapt accordingly. An ability to demonstrate an aptitude to understand innovative technology trends will be an advantage.
Candidates with university degree, able to demonstrate a good understanding of marketing principals and methodologies, plus candidates with proficiency in a second European language will have an advantage.
A minimum educational attainment to A Level/Higher in three subjects.
Computer literacy is essential, with familiarity with Microsoft Office a minimum requirement (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The role will, after an initial period, require some international travel, so a valid passport and driving license is mandatory.
