Reporting to, and working closely with the Managing Director, this key position within the business will own the Factory P&L and develop and execute the site strategy to support organisational and bottom-line growth. 

 

Responsibilities include:-

Deliver outstanding customer value through the production of products on-time, to the right quality and cost effectively.

Responsible for delivering the company’s operational sales turnover, on time delivery and profit targets by:

Ensuring that products are manufactured correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time in accordance with demand pipeline by allocating resources effectively and fully utilising assets.

 

Health & Safety

Promote, maintain and deliver compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirements

 

People

Direct line management responsibility for 5 direct reports with a total staff of between 170 – 200 depending on seasonality. 

Overall management responsibility all manufacturing, distribution, quality, health & safety, technical, procurement/planning and engineering.

Establish goals and objectives for team and implement accordingly to help support / improve job performance (experience, ability, competence).

Be aware of and promote best practice in each area together with performance standards.

Develop and monitor performance standards.

Motivate, lead and develop the team to achieve excellence.

Implement, monitor and review training and development plans.

Monitor, review and address under performance

 

Operations

Ensure the production team have  sufficient time to manufacture and deliver on time according to the master plan. 

Planning & Scheduling of Workload

Master planning is effective and executed

Manage schedule requirements.

Set, monitor & review work-load schedule

 

Whilst developing a high performance workforce, you will actively promote and uphold company performance standards and ideology (on time delivery, quality, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, housekeeping & work ethic).

Ideally educated to Degree/HND level in an Engineering or manufacturing subject and/or have a relevant professional institute qualifications, you should possess a broad background in FMCG with a wide range of knowledge on manufacturing and production processes

Commercially astute, you will have an understanding that the business is sales led and that manufacturing support the sales effort by producing the best possible products on time and in cost. 

With strong problem-solving skills, you will have high level leadership skills with a focus on performance enhancement, effective delegation, succession planning, development, engagement and empowering teams to deliver. 

An energetic, dynamic, positive, and enthusiastic individual, you should  possess the ability to think laterally and act through reasoned decision making and have the ability to build great relationships across the business, collaborating with others to drive performance and taking the team with them on the journey
