Do you have significant strategic purchasing experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment? Does the opportunity to work with a rapidly growing business within a very exciting market-place appeal?

We have a rarely-available opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to join an up-and-coming organisation who produce innovative products for sale globally. You would be tasked with setting up an effective and robust purchasing function within their small (growing) operation in Lanarkshire. You will manage the supplier base from a strategic and operational perspective to drive accurate forecasting, ensure value for money and guaranteed supply.

Main Duties & Responsibilities : 

 

To develop and support purchasing and planning objectives and KPI’s in the areas of:

 

  • Sourcing
  • Cost Reduction
  • Value Engineering
  • Low Cost Country Sourcing
  • Supplier Development and Management
  • Logistics Management
  • Planning & Forecasting

 

What you will need to have:

 

  • Knowledge of all aspects of Procurement including Sourcing, Negotiation, Supplier Management
  • Strong commercial/business acumen.
  • A team player, able to work with a small team and build strong and collaborative relationships across the whole business.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
  • Good negotiation and persuasion skills. Ability to convince others and influence outcome.
  • Agility and flexibility
  • Strong problem analysis, judgement and decision making skills.
  • Ability to organise and lead internal & external meetings/projects, follow-up actions and conclude solutions.
